Seeing Red

Seeing Red was created in 2014 as part of a competition for window displays in the design district of Philadelphia. It was displayed in the window of the Humphrey Flag store, where it received first place for “Best in Design”.

Installed across the street from the historic Betsy Ross House, Judd’s window is an irreverent take on the prolific amount of historical displays in the city of Philadelphia. In this scene we find a skeleton seated at a sewing machine, a thin communist version of Ms. Ross, making the flag of the former soviet Union with a giant banner of Lenin hanging over her.
